Phoenix Audio has just released their Tilt Tone Channel in a 500 series unit. The channel strip features a balanced line level signal processor that incorporates a class A discrete buffer amp (from Phoenix Audio’s world-renowned Nicerizer summing mixer), as well as a DI with 10meg ohm input. The unique 3 position Tilt EQ has 3 carefully selected tilt positions to cover low frequences at 160Hz, mid frequences at 800Hz and high frequencies at 1.6kHz. A dark/bright shaping control knob allows the user to darken a mix by adding lows or brighten a mix by adding highs. Output metering utilizes a 10 position LED to accurately represent output level. The unit can be used in bypass mode, and a pair of these units would be an excellent source of analog color and saturation on a mix bus.
